This case examines the South Island Prosperity Partnership (SIPP), a multi-sector economic development organization in Southern Vancouver Island, British Columbia. During the COVID-19 pandemic, SIPP confronted the challenge of supporting a regional economy that was heavily reliant on sectors such as tourism, retail, and hospitality. Students are invited to explore how organizations—including businesses—can collaborate across sectors to foster inclusive, resilient economic development in times of crisis. The case encourages critical reflection on the role of business in advancing social prosperity, engaging marginalized communities, and contributing to regional recovery and a more inclusive, resilient local economy.
