Andrew Mayer was the director of Long-Term Care for Oxford County, Ontario, Canada, responsible for long-term care facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic. One evening, a group of unvaccinated individuals, all family members of one resident, waited at his parking space. They indicated their displeasure with him, through words and physical threats, for doing what he was doing: implementing government directives to keep people safe. Their motive was to strong-arm him to allow them entry into the long-term care home without being vaccinated or tested for COVID. Mayer felt that there was a risk of physical attack. As he pulled away to a safe location, he started to worry about his staff. What should he do next?
