An intervention was made in a number of schools in Togo, West Africa, to determine if a new method of teaching was superior to what was being used at the time. After a three-year trial, data was collected from schools in the trial and a control group of schools. Now, analysis of the data using ANOVA with controls is needed to determine the result. The sinking of the Titanic in April 1912, with more than 1,500 lives lost, can be used to conduct interesting statistical analyses. Demographic information on the passengers includes age, gender, passenger class and point of embarkation. Both crosstabulations and logistic regression tables based on an available dataset provide interesting results about gender and class distinctions in place at that time in history.
