In 2024, the co-founders of Plastc Lab were strategically planning the company’s entrepreneurial journey. Plastc Lab was a Lebanese purpose-driven business established in 2019 to address the country’s waste crisis by recycling plastic into valuable products. With an innovative approach and commitment to sustainability, Plastc Lab faced significant growth challenges due to Lebanon’s economic crisis, institutional instability, and lack of governmental support for environmental initiatives. By 2024, the Plastc Lab co-founders were confronted with the critical choice of how to grow their company in the face of these external forces, without compromising their environmental goals. This dilemma was exacerbated by Lebanon’s ongoing political crisis, financial collapse, and societal skepticism toward recycled products, which shaped Plastc Lab’s operational landscape.
