The objective of this case is to illustrate the complexity of a large information technology project. The case begins when the Provincial Power Corporation and PricewaterhouseCoopers agree to do a SAP implementation project. The benefits of the system to the Provincial Power Corporation are discussed, as well as the strengths, weaknesses and history of SAP IS-U/CCS (SAP Industry Specific-Utilities/Customer Care & Service). The key success factors and major project risks are reviewed. The project team composition and management are explained and the PricewaterhouseCoopers Omniim methodology is also described. The case explains how the project progresses and discusses some of the complexities and issues that the project team members faced. The case concludes a couple of months before planned implementation, with the question of "go" or "no go" and how to resolve some of the issues on the project that could jeopardize its future. Some of these issues include: time pressures, management issues, budget constraints, technical problems and staff motivation concerns.
