A student must contend with conflict while attempting to do a business policy report on a company run by his father. Serious conflict in the group emerges between the son of the president and one of the other group members. The conflict is rooted in multiple causes including different motivations and objectives; pressure of the course, instructor and evaluation procedures; and complicating relationships (son and father, living arrangements of group members). This case presents the point of view of the son of the president. (This is the first in a two case series titled Caribbean Sugar Machinery Limited, cases 9A74C007 and 9A74C008.)
