A student must contend with conflict when his group attempts to do a business policy report on a company run by the father of one of the students. Serious conflict in the group emerges between the son of the president and one of the other group members. The conflict is rooted in multiple causes including different motivations and objectives; pressure of the course, instructor and evaluation procedures; and complicating relationships (son and father, living arrangements of group members). A group decision must be made on the report. (This is the second in a two case series titled Caribbean Sugar Machinery Limited, cases 9A74C007 and 9A74C008.)
